We might just see a whole new Nashville team this season. Kinda scary to think about. They should still be a solid defensive team but having laviolette as the coach they might add a touch more scoring to their offense. Who knows, maybe the teams in the west should watch out for this team.

Are the defensive corps challenged?

I went to the scrimmage today and noticed that Stalberg was playing with
the guys that are trying to make the team. I see flashes of brilliance from this guy
but if I'm reading the coaches right this guy continues to flounder. Is he a complete
waste of time?

He's a 3 million dollar waste of time that doesn't deserve a roster spot.

I only got to see about 20 minutes of practice but Peka looked sharp

Put him on your fantasy team, or do a mid season trade. He, like others, will have bumps with the new season (bad +/-) but unlike last year I think he'll round out post November where last year he hit the rookie wall and took 2 months to get back into his stride.

This year will be more more Montreal and less Colorado (check last year highlights).

Stalberg is a speedy waste of space.

On a side note I was just thinking about something. Hopefully you Pred's fans could fill me in since I dont recall. What was the reasoning for trading Hartnell? Did he want out of Nashville? Him and Timmo for a Philly 1st rounder seems like a bad deal. It turned into Blum. Which now is easy to see as a bad deal. Also what happened to your original 1st rounder? I seem to be having a issue figuring it out.

I can understand your confusion. That trade was part of the fire sale when our original owner was selling the team. He tied the hands of Poile and wouldn't give him any money to re-sign players. Harts and Timmo had expiring contracts, but wanted to return. However, with no budget, Poile at least got a pick for the player's rights. That first round pick we received was actually Nashville's to begin with. We had traded it to Philly as part of getting Peter Forsberg. Poile got the pick back with this deal.
